Colin Wright specialises in designing luxury kitchens for highly discerning individuals. He has a history of working on some of the most prestigious properties in the UK, and a portfolio consisting of high profile individuals and celebrity clientele.

With over 20 years experience as a kitchen designer, Colin has worked for some of the most reputable companies in the industry, including Poggenpohl where he was the first UK designer to be educated at their legendary design department in Germany, and for a highly acclaimed UK bespoke manufacturer, quoted as making the finest furniture of it's kind in the world’.

This experience of designing both cutting edge contemporary kitchens and the more traditional hand-made bespoke furniture ensures true expertise in a variety of styles, enabling him to meet the unique requirements of each individual client. In addition, this has led to a personally unique fusion of styles that breaks away from standard kitchen design to produce something totally unique.

‘With the kitchen as the social heart of the home, and an increasing number of projects opening the kitchen to the outside space, I like to design spaces that encourage circulation and interaction, whilst still maintaining an efficient working space by combining soft, organic elements with more structural arrangements’

Proud to utilise the skills of local cabinetmakers where appropriate, Colin Wright is also the sole distributor within New Zealand for the bespoke furniture manufacturers Chalon (www.chalon.com) and McCarron&Co (www.mccarronandco.com) and for the contemporary Italian manufacturer, Effeti (www.effeti.com).

Meeting the individual needs of each client has seen him design kitchens in a variety of spaces, from a VW camper van for Jamie Oliver, to stately homes for high profile individuals and, although recognised mainly for his kitchens he also produces designs for other rooms in the home, including bedrooms, bathrooms, media rooms and studies.

His designs have regularly received recognition, reaching the finals of UK Kitchen Designer of the Year on three occasions, and his overall industry experience has led to him regularly contributing to a UK trade publication.

Colin Wright is available for commissions throughout New Zealand and welcomes enquiries from a variety of projects from new build properties to renovation projects.
