Lake Road Interior Design

Our philosophy is that the collaboration between designer and client should reflect the clients aspirations, and provide a finished result that satisfies their brief, works to their budget and leaves them delighted.

Lake Road Interior Design is owned by Vanessa McNaught, who started her career in the interior design industry in 1989 in London working for a commercial design practice specialising in the furnished rental market. She went on to form her own firm, dealing with commercial office fit outs and hospitality. In 1995 Vanessa moved to New Zealand, and after a period of contracting to a group of established designers, went on to set up her current firm: Lake Road Interior Design. Initially based on Auckland's north shore, the business now runs from the studio in Remuera. The main focus of the business is on residential interior design, with small commercial projects such as office reception areas as a secondary focus.

Interior Refurbishment
The term interior refurbishment covers a huge range of services, which include the complete re-working of floor plans, this can involve opening up spaces to create better flow and easier access, altering the layout of a space and creating different zones. It also covers projects such as improving lighting; finishing items such as redecoration, blinds and curtains, new furniture, flooring, accessories, hardware and light fittings.

Kitchen and Bathroom Design
Kitchen and bathroom refurbishment represents a major investment in your home, the investment you make provides an increase in the value of your property; the design solution should reflect your needs and improve the functionality of your space.

Colour Schemes
A new colour scheme will update your home, deciding on what works best for you can be difficult. We can provide exterior colour schemes and interior schemes for the whole house, or a single room - adapting current trends to reflect your personal taste.

Soft furnishings
We supply a wide range of soft furnishings, which include curtains, blinds, cushions, lampshades and bedding. We have access to all major fabric wholesalers, and can help you to make the right decision about the style of furnishing that suits your home.

Furniture & Accessories
We have access to a vast array of furniture and accessories across the spectrum of styles and genre. We can provide you with upholstery and furniture from a range of top New Zealand and international manufacturers. In addition we also provide accessories including lamps, light fittings, mirrors, rugs and carpets, all supplied and co-ordinated to provide a complete package for you.

Design & Manufacture
There are often occasions when, despite the huge number of products on the market, we are unable to find a piece that exactly meets our needs. In these situations a custom designed piece is the solution. By having a piece of furniture made for you, you are guaranteed a one off design that will fit your needs perfectly. We design pieces in timber and metal, and manufacture them to exacting standards, to provide you with a beautiful piece of furniture - which is personal to you.

Project Management
Once we have progressed through the design process we are able to offer you our expertise in managing the execution of your project. This means that we will take on board organisation of the trades required to carry out the work, scheduling and problem solving as the project progresses.
