Aluminium scrap is an integral part of the production of aluminium extrusion as is the recycling of the scrap.
Ullrich Aluminium has been around long enough to know that producing scrap or too much scrap means a loss in production and profit. So we are pretty good at avoiding the production of more scrap than is humanly possible.
But its not all about being smart and saving money, being a 100% New Zealand owned and operated company run by Kiwis we know all about New Zealand’s International CLEAN and GREEN Image and we want to help keep it that way.
Extruding aluminium uses lots of energy; producing waste aluminium is very costly so it’s in our own interest to be smart energy users.
Recycling aluminium is one thing we know about but did you know that recycling 1Kg of aluminium can save up to 6kg of bauxite (the primary product of aluminium), four kg of chemical products and 14 kWh of electricity and that a recycled aluminium can saves enough energy to run a television set for three hours?
